National Kiteboarding League series  –  November 12-15      

A little later in the month, from November 12 to 15, the first national kiteboarding event series in Australia will feature at Main Beach.

Combining the speed of windsurfing with the dicey, thrilling tricks of wakeboarding, kiteboarding is a fast growing international sport finally finding its roots in Australia. And what better spot to host the National Kite League series than the Gold Coast.

The best kiteboarders from across Australia will battle it out at the event, and the Big Air Competitions offer another exciting option for spectators.National Kiteboarding League series

If you’d like to try your hand at kiteboarding make sure to check out the Have a Go sessions, held at 10am each day throughout the series. Hosted by NKL judges, either instructors or top-tier kiteboarders, the 15 minute free intro courses provide an enjoyable entry point into the sport for the uninitiated.

Australian PGA Championship  –  December 3-6

Golf logoMeanwhile, from December 3 to 6, the richest prize in Aussie golf will be contested at the Gold Coast’s Royal Pines Resort.

With $1.75 million up for grabs, the Australian PGA Championships is renowned as many Australian golfers’ favourite tournament. It’s also a fan-favourite event for its tight competition and illustrious history.

As well as the on-course action, snatch the opportunity to get up close with the pros at official autograph signings, get involved in interactive family-friendly zones, or take part in a high tea. In partnership with Dreamworld theme park, the championship will include bouncy castles, face painting, music, shows, wildlife, golf activities, prizes and more – and all for free!

Tickets to the Australian PGA Championship start at about $30 and more information can be found at Children 16 years and younger are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Members of RACV and affiliated motoring clubs will also receive discounted admission.
