One of the busiest months of the year on the Gold Coast, August brings an array of entertainment to our sunny shores, including the Gold Coast Car Show, QLD Open Golf Championships and the ever-popular Gold Coast Show.
Whether you’re looking to hit the rides at the show, watch pros take to the green for a share in a $110,000 prize purse, or check out the latest and greatest mechanical marvels, the Gold Coast has got you covered.
Conveniently, The Grand Apartments in Labrador offers the perfect spot to relax and make the most of August’s offerings – it’s centrally located and just a short drive from these exciting events, and much more.
Gold Coast Show – 28th – 30th August
The Gold Coast show will be held across August 28, 29 and 30 at the Gold Coast Turf Club and Showgrounds – it was first used last year and it’s set to provide a bigger and better experience than ever. And that’s really saying something – the show has attracted crowds of over 60,000 previously.
As well as your expected agricultural show fare, the three day event will include creative exhibits, rides, carnival games, live entertainment and a whole lot more – it’s quite an exhaustive list! Ticket prices are yet to be confirmed, but expect to pay about $20 for adult entry and less for children and concession card holders. It’s regarded as one of the Gold Coast’s biggest and best community events, so it’s well worth taking the family along for jam-packed day out. Visit www.goldcoastshow.com.au for more information about the Bundall-based event.
Just a few days before the Gold Coast Show, the car show will roll into town, literally. The August 22 and 23 event will feature rides from the start of the 1900s all the way up to today’s most sought after automotive fantasies and revheads will undoubtedly be in their element. But even If you’ve only got a passing interest in motoring, it’s still guaranteed to impress, thanks to attractions such as an international food court, trade shows, kids rides, market stalls and a road safety rescue demonstration by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.
Of course, the Sound Off Competition, the Roller Derby Girls, the 4×4 Off Road World demonstration and the Proclaimer Tuff Truck and Dragster displays return again this year, making the car show a must-see if you’re visiting the Gold Coast.
Tickets cost just $10 – good value considering the broad range of brilliant entertainment available. Visit
